The London Museum of Water & Steam has undergone substantial positive change over the past 4 years and like all museums in the sector, has responded to the challenges of Covid 19. We are now looking ahead to an exciting new chapter for the museum with a new inspirational leader as our Director of this small museum.

The role of Director is varied and includes high level responsibility across a number of areas including Fundraising, Finance, Engagement, Collections and Operations.

This is a full-time role with 7 direct reports and a 100+ team of dedicated volunteers who contribute to all aspects of our operations, including front of house; driving and maintaining engines; running our archive and looking after our buildings and grounds.

Salary: £50,000 pa

The successful candidate will be engaged as an employee and receive a pension contribution, holiday pay and other benefits.

Whilst some work from home may be possible it’s important to both the Board and staff that the Director is on site at least 2 days per week to ensure operations run smoothly.
