Oxfordshire County Council are seeking an inspirational, dynamic, and innovative Museum Service Manager to lead and develop our museums. If you are passionate about bringing our collections and buildings to life to inspire and engage the public this is the post for you.

About us

Oxfordshire County Council are seeking to appoint a Museum Service Manager on a 1 year fixed term contract.  This is an exciting time to join the council with the adoption of a new strategy for Library and Heritage services setting out the council’s ambition for these services for the next five years.

About the role

We require a Museum Service Manager who has a track record in making a difference in the promotion of museums and can inspire staff to do the same.

We want you to challenge and develop your teams and the service. We are looking for someone to drive and deliver the changes that we are making whilst supporting your team of equally dedicated staff. About you

As Museum Service Manager, you will be required to deliver effective leadership, management and development of the County Museums Service (including The Oxfordshire Museum, Museum Resources Centre, Swalcliffe Barn, the Bishop’s Palace and collections, learning and outreach services teams) within the overall objectives of the County Council.
