We are recruiting for new colleagues to help us ‘Share Northumberland’s Stories to engage, enrich and inspire’ and support community coproduction, climate activism, learning and inspiration across our museums and beyond.

Purpose of the Job

Working across our 4 museum sites, the Museums Manager is a fast-paced and wide-ranging role; you’ll lead and inspire our MN visitor experience team to ‘Share Northumberland’s stories to engage, enrich and inspire’ prioritising access, ensuring quality and consistency, and maximising revenue and secondary spend. You’ll help build relationships with, and staff knowledge about, our diverse local communities, and support high-quality accessible engagement onsite and online. The Museum Manager will lead the delivery of day-to-day operations, and ensure alignment with our charity’s inclusivity & relevance, ambition and quality, and environmental principles.

The Museum Manager will guide our visitor experience team in the delivery of health & safety standards and safeguarding protocol and work with our Chief Operating Officer to set visitor experience standards and develop and update relevant policies and procedures. You will coordinate and analyse visitor data and feedback, manage the admissions ticketing EPOS system, and ensure our online content is responsive and relevant, reporting progress regularly to internal stakeholders.

The Museums Manager will also be a key stakeholder within the management team, working across the organisation to help plan and deliver our diverse public programme of events and activities whilst maintaining the safety and security of our audiences, staff, and historic sites.

This is a permanent role with a probationary period of six months. Flexible, and remote working supported.
