Partnership and Community and Engagement Officer – The Royal Parks

About Us
Created in March 2017, The Royal Parks is a charity that supports and manages 5,000 acres of historic and precious parkland across London. Millions of Londoners and tourists visit our beautiful sites, which offer unparalleled opportunities for enjoyment, exploration and healthy living in the heart of the capital, as well as an important refuge for nature.
We look after eight of London’s largest open spaces; Hyde Park, The Green, Richmond, Greenwich, St James’s, Bushy and The Regent’s Parks, and Kensington Gardens. We also manage other important open spaces in the capital including Brompton Cemetery, Victoria Tower Gardens, Canning Green and Poet’s Corner.
In January 2020 Greenwich Park was awarded £4.5 million for the restoration of Greenwich Park by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) and the National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) ‘Parks for People’ programme. This project will restore the Park’s landscape, provide improved visitor facilities and engage underserved local communities. The project is three years into its five year delivery phase.
We are now seeking a Partnership and Community and Engagement Officer to join us for a full-time, two year fixed term contract, working 36 hours per week.

The Role
As a Partnership and Community and Engagement Officer, you will help to deliver the Greenwich Park Revealed (GPR) project activity plan.
Working with the GPR project team, you will engage and develop relationships and initiatives with local communities to help them access, enjoy and learn about Greenwich Park.
You will co-ordinate a programme of engagement activities delivered by project partners such as Greenwich Dance and Tramshed.
You will also work with the Volunteering and Learning Teams to recruit and train new volunteers as well as co-ordinating and supporting current volunteers.
Additionally, you will:
- Help develop content, review and trial new learning resources
- Produce regular newsletters, publicity materials and online information
- Maintain accurate records of community engagement
About You
To be considered as a Partnership and Community and Engagement Officer, you will need:
- Experience of successfully co-ordinating nature or heritage community projects
- Experience training and working with volunteers
- Experience reporting to project boards and funders, monitoring progress and evaluating success
- Experience managing contractors and partners
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- An awareness of Health & Safety, safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk
