Candidates who wish to be considered for a secondment opportunity for this role must gain permission from their manager prior to applying.
The Authority is seeking to employ a seasonal Heritage Assistant to provide excellent front line customer service at Ruthin Gaol, one of Denbighshire County Council’s Prestigious Heritage properties and the 15th Century Historic House Nantclwyd Y Dre. 3 days a week, 10am – 5pm on a rota basis, to include weekends and some Bank Holidays.
We also have opportunities for those interested in casual hours as a Relief Heritage Assistant, covering holidays and absences at either of these sites throughout the season.
Our aim is to appoint an enthusiastic, confidant and capable individual who is committed to enhancing the visitors experience at Ruthin Gaol.
The successful applicant will work as part of an existing team at Ruthin Gaol and Nantclwyd Y Dre. Amongst other duties you will be involved in:
- Meeting & greeting visitors.
- Promoting services & events
- Completion of accountancy paperwork.
- Be responsible for opening up and closing the buildings
- Giving historic tours of the sites (with training)
- Assisting in a variety of events
- Ensuring the upkeep and presentation of visitor areas
- Administration
Candidates should have some experience in a customer interfacing environment and in a retail environment. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
