Shell Heritage Art Collection Manager – The National Motor Museum

The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is seeking a Collections Manager for the Shell Heritage Art Collection.

An important collection of 20th Century British commercial art, it features the work of well-known modern British artists.  The collection contains posters, press advertisements, paintings and illustrations, as well as early postcards, books and a unique collection of Valentine cards. A dedicated exhibition space within the National Motor Museum shows Shell’s advertising campaigns from the 1900s to the 1950s, and artworks from the collection are regularly loaned to museums and galleries across Britain and Europe.

Working as part of the collections team at the National Motor Museum, the Shell Heritage Art Collections Manager will maintain the integrity of this collection through the application of ongoing collections management, documentation and conservation best practice. The Shell Heritage Art Collections Manager will also respond to enquiries and research requests, curate and coordinate exhibitions, manage exhibition areas in the National Motor Museum, and oversee long-term loans.
