Technical Consultant – Rod Barlow Consulting

The Role
Following a successful first four years, we are looking to expand our team by adding the role of a Technical Consultant.
The role will be to support the current team to deliver against a wide and varied portfolio of technology projects to organisations primarily in the cultural and visitor attractions sector, but also to technology authors, retailers, and brand houses.
The support will be in the form of helping to build, maintain and support E-Commerce implementations on the Shopify platform and to provide installation, configuration, training and support services on a variety of EPoS and associated solutions. You will sometimes deliver project management services to support clients with the implementation of new systems through the key project cycles of discovery, design, testing and go-live support.
In essence this is a role with an opportunity to be involved in many aspects of technology development, implementation, support and project delivery working in a mixed environment of client site and from home.
This is an opportunity to learn a set of skills from colleagues with vast experience in the exciting world of commercial technology for the visitor experience and retail organisations.
Salary: £24,000p.a. to £30,000pa dependent on experience.
About You
You will ideally be A Level or equivalent educated and have some experience working in a technology company, the technology department of an organisation or the commercial team of a cultural organisation or visitor attraction with exposure to using and possibly implementing technology to support the commercial objectives of your organisation. You may work for a retailer or brand house where you are familiar with retail, e-commerce, finance, and supply chain solutions.
In essence you will have an interest in technology and be familiar with solutions that support commercial growth and stability, such as Finance, EPoS, E-Commerce, Ticketing, Event Management, or Finance solutions and have an aptitude to support, advise and train others on best practice.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be willing to work a mixture of home working and travelling to customers across the UK and sometimes across Europe. Ideally, you will hold a Full and clean UK valid driving license.
Full training will be given to provide the knowledge and confidence to be a valuable asset to our clients and team.
