Hours: Annualised hour contract averaging 37.5 hours per week across a seven day working week including evenings

Glastonbury Abbey is now recruiting for a customer focused and commercially minded Visitor Experience Manager. Leading a team that operates across admissions, retail and catering you will be excited by the diverse range of responsibilities and will inspire your team to deliver a world class customer service. You will ensure that the team is well trained, informed and led to achieve a high standard of service as befits a renowned heritage attraction with national and international visitors.

This is an important role at Glastonbury Abbey, working with all teams to ensure the customer is at the heart of decision making and service delivery.

You will be continually looking for ways to enhance the visitor experience, always identifying our audience needs and seeking to exceed them. You will work within the Commercial Activity Team to ensure the visitor experience is operating cost effectively by controlling expenditure, managing stock, handling cash and processing cards appropriately and providing accurate and appropriate management reports. You will provide coherent and logical data that represents the visitor experience statistically. You will identify areas of needed improvement and you will also congratulate successes.

Hours and days of working will be flexible to meet the needs of the business across a seven day week. You will organise and manage a team of flexible workers to meet the requirements during admission times but also for special events and some late opening.
