Visitor Experience Officer – John Wesley’s New Room

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Visitor Experience Officer to ensure the delivery of an exceptional visitor experience.  The Visitor Experience Officer is responsible for the day-to-day management and development of visitor services and operational activities at John Wesley’s New Room, under the direction of senior management.

The post holder will also be responsible for developing visitor income generating opportunities, including the implementation of its retail activities.  The VEO will work closely with our volunteer team, in particular our Welcomers, Tour Guides, Shop and Events volunteer teams.

The breadth of the role makes this job both interesting and challenging – no day is the same. The successful candidate for this position will be a confident communicator with experience working in a visitor customer facing environment – ideally in a museum, heritage, or similar attraction.   You will need to be able to work flexibly with a wide range of stakeholders, from staff and volunteers to visitors and external partners.  You will be comfortable working as part of a small team in a reactive and changing environment.

Hours: Full time. 40 hours per week, including two weekend days per month on a rota basis (time off in lieu given once contracted hours have been worked).
