Volunteer Manager – Bridport Museum

Bridport Museum Trust is seeking an experienced Volunteer Manager to work with our wonderful team of 65 volunteers.

Purpose of the role:

To manage the Museum’s volunteers in various aspects of the organisation’s work in order to ensure that the Museum runs efficiently. The volunteer manager is the only full time role at the museum, although the role is supported by other bought in expertise together with high engagement from Trustees.

Bridport Museum Trust

Founded in 1932, the Bridport Museum Trust comprises the Bridport Museum in a beautiful listed building on South Street; the collections store and the local history centre. It has a wonderful collection covering the social and economic history of Bridport and its surrounding villages, with a rope and net collection of national significance. The collection also includes fine art, geology, archaeology, archives and photographs, coins and medals and even some costume & textiles, natural history and dolls! The Trust relies on a dedicated and talented cohort of around 65 volunteers who contribute their ideas, time and energy to make the museum and archives available to the community and visitors for enjoyment, education and inspiration.

We have volunteers working on the following activities: front of house; commercial / shop; collections; rope making; making; maintenance; and learning.
