Do you survey your audience? What information do you collect and how do you collect it? Would you like to start surveying your audience?
Prof. Fiona Candlin, Director of the Mapping Museums Lab, is planning a new research project on audiences at UK museums. She is keen to hear about your experience of surveying audiences (or not) and have your input on project design.
This informal session will be an opportunity to share experience, to talk about the things that went well and those that didn’t, and to consider a more collective approach to audience research.
Who should attend?
This event is for anyone involved in collecting and/or using audience data at your museum, or those who would like to find out more about audience research. The event is for AIM members only.

Fiona Candlin is Professor of Museology at Birkbeck and Director of the Mapping Museums Lab and has written extensively on museums. Her most recent book Stories from Small Museums, asked why so many community and special interest groups founded their own museums. Oliver Betts (National Railway Museum) said ‘It is a book that has reinvigorated my love of museums at a time of considerable upheaval for the sector; I recommend it highly’.
