We try to support as many of our members as possible so please consider carefully which programme best meets your needs before you apply.
AIM Higher, AIM Aspire and Spark! are now open for applications in 2025.
For accredited (or working towards) museums in Wales, we have funded places for each of the programmes below. Please get in touch with us by Monday 7 March if you would like to apply for a place.
Spark!
This is a programme for those who are motivating and leading the overall team in their museum.
Strengthen your professional and personal resilience with this programme of support and development for independent museum leaders. Share your challenges and opportunities with a small peer group of museum directors and senior leaders. Reignite your creativity, re-energize your teams and face the future for your organisation with confidence.
We particularly welcome people with a significant leadership role including individual museum directors and other senior leaders.
The 2025 programme runs from May – July 2025.
Closing date: Monday 7 April.
AIM Aspire
This programme provides mentoring support to individuals.
New AIM mentoring programme providing advice, guidance and support to help you and your museum. You could be working for an AIM member museum or be an individual member of AIM.
We are offering 10 one to one mentoring opportunities to take place before the end of December 2025.
Closing date: Monday 7 April.
AIM Higher
This programme is provides support for your organisation, and in particular boards of trustees.
Good governance is key to well-run, successful museums yet being a trustee can sometimes feel daunting. AIM offers practical, hands-on support to help your board develop and your museum thrive. Participating boards will receive one-to-one support from a specialist consultant, who will work with the board to identify and address areas for development.
We offer bespoke consultancy and expect this to be mainly used over two days.
Applications are assessed on a rolling basis for as long as funding remains available. If you’re considering an application, we would urge you to get in touch sooner rather than later!
