We are overseeing a two room museum, run by volunteers. Our trustees fulfil their legal responsibilities including . safeguarding finances, caring for and refurbishing a listed building, regularly reviewing polices and developing objectives which support the museum’s future. However, they are not an aloof body, ticking boxes and paying bills. They are closely involved with the museum itself. This involves, among other things, the displays, the welfare of volunteers and the public, finding ways to increase the outrach of the museum so that local people and their children feel a real sense that it beongs to them. We have just launched a brand new website to showcase the museum’s attractions.
We need trustees who can work with others, who have ideas for what we might improve and the energy to put them into effect.
