We wish to inject fresh thinking and energy into the Trust and are looking for committed, forward-thinking people with experience of accounting/financial management, and of fundraising/marketing, and with strong local or regional connections. Previous experience in the museum/heritage /charity sector would be helpful but is not essential.
We want our board of Trustees to be inclusive, diverse and linked to local communities. We particularly encourage applications for Trustee roles from people who are underrepresented within our board. This includes young people, people from global majority backgrounds, disabled people, LGBTQIA+ people and people from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds. Appointments will be made on merit alone.
You do not need previous experience as a Trustee to apply.
Treasurer – Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial aspects of the charity, on behalf of the board of trustees, to ensure its short and long-term viability
- Ensure that the board of trustees fulfils its duties and responsibilities for the proper financial governance and sustainability of the charity.
Fundraising – Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the fundraising strategy of the charity, to fulfil both short and long-term fundraising goals
- Develop Friends and Patrons scheme and devise and manage other specific fundraising appeals as needed.
- Sit on the Fundraising Committee
Number of meetings per annum/time commitment:
Trustees are expected to attend six Board meetings per year in person in Romsey. Additionally, trustees are invited to attend and represent the charity at events, meetings and functions and to take part in sub-committees as required.
