The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Assistant to join our Collections team. With two major permanent exhibitions (and other temporary displays) in the works, this role will support the Collections and Exhibitions teams with their development and delivery, working with collections both on display and in store in our dedicated Collections Centre.
Reporting to the Curator you will be assisting with collections care, documentation and collections management. To ensure the smooth delivery of the Block B project, you will support Collections staff in overseeing volunteers working in different aspects of collections management, digitisation and care. You will be directly contributing to the production of new permanent exhibitions and the wider Block B project, and you will support Collections staff to enable them also to contribute their expertise.
As the Project Assistant, you might be providing access to collections for in-house researchers and exhibition project teams, providing digitised material or copyright information to the Communications or Learning teams, or supporting the Collections, Site Works or Communications teams with supervision of contractors or media crews.
The successful candidate will have excellent planning and organisation skills and attention to detail. In addition, you must be an excellent team player with the flexibility to take on a broad range of tasks.
Due to the nature of this role and our unique environment, this role will include working at height on occasion, along with lifting and carrying items.

This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week. usually between Monday to Friday between 08.30 and 16.30 although flexibility to work outside these hours from time to time, along with occasional weekend working is preferred. The duration of this role is linked to the Block B project timetable, therefore this contract is fixed-term until the end of January 2029.
The salary is £27,500 per annum. Annual leave entitlement is 33 days, including statutory holidays per annum. This role is based on site at Bletchley Park, Milton Keynes.
