Rising Leaders

AIM is excited to announce that applications are open for another round of the Rising Leaders Programme for Museums, Archives and Libraries in Wales, with thanks to funding from Welsh Government Culture Division.

The Rising Leaders Programme is aimed at those looking to take the next steps in the career into leadership. The course will support you in developing your leadership and management skills, through workshops, an in-person day, action learning sets, and individual coaching. Content for the course will be confirmed with the selected cohort, but will include topics such as; negotiating skills, personal leadership development, communication effectively, and managing a budget.    

The course programme

Please ensure you are available for all workshop dates below, as attendance at all sessions is expected:  

In person: 

  • Cardiff: Wednesday 22 October 
  • Bangor: Thursday 6 November 

Online: 

  • Tuesday 9 December, 10.00-12.00 
  • Wednesday 21 January. 10.00-12.00 
  • Thursday 5 March, 10.00-12.00 

The course is free to attend, including the in-person day. However, you will need to make your own way to and from the venue, in Bangor or Cardiff.    

The course will take place online, with the exception of the in-person day which will be on Thursday 6 November in Bangor, or Wednesday 22 October in Cardiff.     

Timings for the in-person day are to be confirmed, but will start approximately 9.30am and finishing at 4.30pm. 

Action Learning Set dates and groups will be confirmed once offers to participate have been made in early October, but will take place between December and February. 

How to apply

Applications are open to staff of accredited Museums and Archives, or Libraries working in Wales, however preference will be given to those not working for national organisations.

Successful participants will be selected based on applications and demonstrable benefit to the individuals and their organisations.
