ICOMOS UK is recruiting for an exceptional candidate for the role of President.
This is a high-profile, voluntary role which provides strategic leadership for the organisation. The President acts as Chair of the Board, and is a Charity Trustee. They represent ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments & Sites) UK nationally and internationally, including to Government departments, heritage agencies, practitioners and professional bodies.
The role demands energy, commitment, and ambition, supporting a small organisation to increase its financial sustainability, extend its reach, and demonstrate its impact. Current priorities are to build resources, capability, and capacity to sustain core operations and respond to the increasing demand for advice and collaboration; to continue to strengthen relationships with Government agencies in the UK and with ICOMOS in Paris; and to amplify ICOMOS UK’s distinctive role and independent voice in the development of inclusive heritage practice in the UK and internationally.
Number of meetings per annum/time commitment:
4 Board meetings, a number of other ad hoc operational meetings.
