With funding from the Welsh Government we are very pleased to continue offering support specifically for museums in Wales.
Rising Leaders
We’re pleased to be running another round of the Rising Leaders Programme for Museums, Archives and Libraries in Wales, with thanks to funding from Welsh Government Culture Division. Please note, applications for this round have now closed.
The Rising Leaders Programme is aimed at those looking to take the next steps in the career into leadership. The course will support you in developing your leadership and management skills, through workshops, an in-person day, action learning sets, and individual coaching. Content for the course will be confirmed with the selected cohort, but will include topics such as; negotiating skills, personal leadership development, communication effectively, and managing a budget.
AIM Higher consultancies
In 2022-2024, AIM supported seven museums in Wales through short consultancies. These have included support with strategic planning and fundraising, setting up a new development trust, reviewing governance generally and emergency support to museums facing closure.
AIM’s generous support on governance has been so crucial to us.
AIM’s support has been invaluable for our future. The mentoring provided by the consultant, from assisting us in identifying the best legal structure for the Development Trust to advising us on the content of the charitable objects and the application itself, will now facilitate our progress in setting it up. This in turn will contribute towards our sustainability at a time when it is most required.
We are offering eight two-day AIM Higher consultancies.
Additional support
Ring-fenced places for Welsh Museums on Arts Council England funded AIM programmes including the Spark! leadership and AIM Aspire mentoring programmes and Trustee induction workshops.
