Click here to read in Welsh (opens in a new tab)AIM, funded by the Welsh Government’s Culture Division, is pleased to announce a new grant scheme to provide funding to purchase contactless donation points to Welsh museums. The grant scheme will enable eligible museums in Wales, to apply for capital funding to purchase a contactless donation point/s for use at their museum. The grant will also cover upgrades to electrical and Wi-Fi infrastructure, and one year of subscription fees/licences, to enable the collection and processing of the contactless payments. Successful applicants will be paid in two instalments of 50% on acceptance of the grant award and the balance due on completion.
Key dates
- November 2025 – Applications open on a first come first served basis
- January 2026 – Applications will close when the funding has been awarded
- Friday 27 February 2026 – The deadline for grants to be spent and claimed
Eligibility
Accredited museums or those working towards accreditation under the UK Accreditation Scheme that are:
- Local Authority Type 1 and Type 2
- Independent Museums Type 1 and Type 2
- University Museums
