AIM Hallmarks: Grants Given To Welsh Museums
AIM is delighted to announce the latest AIM member museums in Wales to receive funding via the AIM Hallmarks Awards. These grants will boost the financial sustainability of Welsh AIM members and provide support for their trustees and boards.
AIM’s Director, Emma Chaplin, welcomed the news saying: “From online shops to developing fundraising skills and introducing new branding, we are delighted to be able to support innovative projects, inspired by AIM’s Hallmarks, across museums in Wales. We are grateful that the Welsh Government recognises that this work can make a positive and long lasting impact on the financial resilience of museums.”
The AIM Hallmarks Awards are possible thanks to a programme supported by the Welsh Government through the Museums, Archives and Libraries Division. The awards will reopen for applications from AIM members in Wales in late 2019.
Deborah-Anne Wildgust, Curator at Torfaen Museum Trust who received an AIM Hallmarks Award said: “After all the negativity and cuts in funding over the last few years, we are so looking forward to being positive and pro-active in taking our museum Trust forward. This AIM Hallmarks grant in association with the Welsh Government, will help us enormously to make the move forward with a much-needed professional person to assist existing staff and focus on establishing new ways of sustaining our income and our future.”
