Association for Cultural Enterprises Appoints Gordon Morrison as new CEO

The Association for Cultural Enterprises is pleased to announce the appointment of Gordon Morrison as its new CEO. Gordon will take over the role from outgoing CEO Jill Fenwick.

During his 20 years working in the sector, Gordon has provided guidance and support to hundreds of visitor attractions. He has spent the last five years as CEO of the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions (ASVA), the representative body for the attractions sector in Scotland, growing membership by over 40% to create one of the largest and most influential tourism associations in the country. Gordon also sits on a number of key industry groups including the Scottish Tourism Alliance Council, the Scottish Tourism Skills Group and the Scottish Thistle Awards Industry Panel.

Prior to joining ASVA, Gordon held management positions within both the tourism and heritage sectors. At VisitScotland he was responsible for the delivery of the highly regarded Visitor Attraction Grading Scheme, and at Museums and Galleries Edinburgh he headed up commercial and visitor operations at 13 venues, including the Scott Monument and Museum of Childhood.

Caroline Brown, Cultural Enterprises Chair of Trustees, said, “Gordon will be a terrific ambassador for the Association and will continue to lead with the same values, commitment and expertise that we have enjoyed for so many years under Jill’s stewardship.”

Gordon will take up his new role in September 2023, and is very much looking forward to taking his passion for supporting and inspiring the sector he loves on to a multinational stage.
