Economic Impact of Independent Museums

Deadline extended to Friday 10 May

We’re updating the AIM Economic Impact Toolkit to assess the economic impact of the independent museums sector in the UK.

Since its original development in 2010, and the 2014 and 2019 refreshes, the Toolkit>> has proved to be extremely useful for museums looking to assess and evidence their contribution to their local and regional economies, and thus strengthen their advocacy efforts, grant applications, fundraising and more.

Straightforward and easy-to-use, it enables organisations to assess their impact with clarity, helping them highlight the ongoing and significant contribution they make to the economies of their local area, and thus also our national economy.

We’ve appointed DC Research, in partnership with Durnin Research, to undertake this update and to survey independent museums across the UK.

The robustness of the results, and in particular the toolkit, depends upon the number and quality of responses we get from you.

So we need your help!

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey by no later than the deadline of Friday 10 May 2024 – it should only take around 10 minutes to complete and you can preview the survey questions on the link below too, to help you gather the information you need.

Your time is very much appreciated.

All participating museums will receive a copy of the final report and the updated impact toolkit for your own use.
