Latest AIM Pilgrim Trust grant awards

We were thrilled to receive 45 applications in the AIM Pilgrim Trust spring grant round. The panel had some tough decisions to make, with 17 applications to the audit scheme, 15 for collections care and 13 to remedial conservation projects.  Over £70,000 of funding has been awarded to 22 organisations for conservation projects.

AIM Pilgrim Trust Collection Care grants

The Whithorn Trust, £10,000.00 – Conserving the Whithorn Ferrous Metalwork Assemblage

Cyfarthfa Castle Museum & Art Gallery, £6,037.50 – Mould survey of Cyfarthfa Castle Museum & Art Gallery Collections

The Stained Glass Museum, £5,200.00 – Caring for our Stained Glass Heritage: Funding to purchase environmental monitors and work with a conservator to conduct cleaning trials and reframe the oldest panel in the collection.

Isles of Scilly Museum Association, £7,500.00 – Temporary Storage: Shipping Container Pilot. The refurbishment of a shipping container to provide temporary collections storage during a programme of building works.

AIM Pilgrim Trust Remedial Conservation grants

Salcombe Maritime Museum, £1,500 – Salcombe Maritime Museum Metal Conservation Project: Working with a conservator to address active corrosion on metal objects in the collection.

Inverness Museum & Art Gallery, £4,910 – The conservation and re-framing of ‘Battle of Culloden’ by Peel Ross.

Cowper & Newton Museum, £5,000 – Conservation of William Cowper’s counterpane

Museum in the Park, £7,500 – Fossil Fishing – The Conservation Phase. Funding to work with a conservator to prepare fragile Early Jurassic period fossils, excavated in July 2022, for display.

Epping Forest District Museum, £3,000 – Walter Spradbery’s Posters: Preservation and Accessibility

Groam House Museum, £4,464 – Conservation of three Bronze Age Burial Urns for display.
