Trustee vacancies – Greenfield Valley Trust

The Greenfield Valley Trust is looking for up to six trustees to increase and strengthen our Board as we seek to protect and enhance the beautiful Greenfield Valley with its important medieval religious sites, former industrial mills (now scheduled monuments), beautiful water areas originally developed to power industry, visitor centre, play area, café and the largest museum in Flintshire.

We are looking for board members who really want to get involved and who would enjoy playing an influential and proactive role as part of the small team running the Greenfield Valley.  The Trust works in close partnership with Flintshire County Council, the landowner.

2022 was the first year of implementation of our new 10-year strategy.  We are now looking to supplement the skills around our board table to help us continue our successful delivery.

The Greenfield Valley Strategy’s objectives seek to protect the valley’s heritage and environment, provide more facilities and experiences for the local community and promote tourism.  To help achieve these objectives we would particularly welcome applications from people with expertise in:

• Finance
• Marketing/promotion
• Tourism
• The law
• Heritage services
• Fundraising

Number of meetings/time commitment/location:

The Board meets approximately eight times a year. In addition, Board members may be involved in projects and working groups.

The Trust is looking for trustees who can become familiar with the Valley, its partners and visitors and the staff who work here and so we are not seeking trustees who wish to work online.

Remuneration: These are unsalaried volunteer roles. Essential expenses will be paid.
