Woodbridge Tide Mill Charitable Trust

Job Title: Education and learning
Location: Woodbridge Tide Mill Charitable Trust, Suffolk
Time Commitment: 10 meetings per year
Contact Details: chair@woodbridegtidemill.org.uk
Closing date: 2024-04-30

Woodbridge Tide Mill in Suffolk is recruiting an Education and Learning lead to their board of Trustees.

Educational outreach is an important part of the Mill’s work. Alongside the visits by schools to see the industrial history represented by a mill dating from 1793 that is still working, the Mill runs programmes focussed on the impact of climate change on the River Deben and the Mill. The Mill also emphasises the importance of using renewable energy – something a mill on the same site has done for over 900 years.  The Mill has a learning module about gears based on the requirements of Key Stage 1 and 2. More programmes are under consideration. The Lead Trustee would have experience in the primary or secondary schools’ sectors and would be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the work of volunteers and consultants who deliver the programmes and organise the schools’ visits.

Number of meetings per annum/time commitment: 10 meetings a year with a time commitment overall of 3 hours per week,

Daytime or evening meetings: The Trust Board meets twice a year in the early evening.

Closing date for applications:      30 April
