Trustee vacancy – Boiler and Engineering Skills Training Trust

BESTT (The Boiler and Engineering Skills Training Trust) a voluntary-run charity entirely devoted to training to safely maintain the UK’s working steam heritage is looking for up to 3 new Trustees to help us develop our contacts within the sector, and in particular help with:

• Improved relationships with heritage workshops, operators and owners to identify their training needs and capacity going forward, taking into account the volunteer workforce;
• Work with sector organisations to help establish priorities for training
• Make better use of training support possibilities including grant funding and adapting training materials to contemporary use eg smartphone access.

Number of meetings per annum/time commitment: As a minimum attend at least three 2 hour Board meetings a year (sometimes online, some in person) and be prepared to spend up to 4 days undertaking visits to workshops and meetings in the regions (travel expenses are payable).
