Trustee vacancy – Chair – Holocaust Survivors’ Friendship Association
The HSFA was formed in 1996 to provide friendship and support to Holocaust survivors who fled Nazi persecution and resettled in Yorkshire. The HSFA became a registered charity in 2000, an incorporated charity in 2017 and opened the Holocaust Exhibition & Learning Centre, based at the University of Huddersfield, in November 2018. Over the past 20 years, the HSFA has developed its education, research and commemoration work to help today’s generations understand the dangers of discrimination, persecution and genocide.
As we rebrand into Holocaust Centre North to bring fresh approaches to the subject, we are seeking our next Chair of the Board of Trustees, succeeding our current Chair Ben Barkow. We wish to find an individual of exceptional personal qualities and leadership experience, with a deep personal passion for our purposes and objectives and for its potential for positive impact and influence.
Based on the campus of the University of Huddersfield, our exhibition and learning centre is an extraordinary resource, which shows how local and regional stories can illuminate issues of global history. Over the past two years, our programming has developed a reputation for being inter-disciplinary, original and relevant. This is an exciting time for the charity.
To apply for the post, please download the Chair of Trustees Recruitment Pack and send a CV and personal statement to Sarah Kirk (email@example.com). Please include details of how you meet all the criteria in the person specifications. The deadline is 12noon on 13 June. Interviews will be held on the 6 of July.
If you have any particular requirements for the interview day, please let us know as soon as possible.
