Trustee vacancy – Epping Forest District Museum Trust

Following a governance review, management of Epping Forest District Museum will be transferred from the District Council to the Epping Forest District Museum CIO in Spring 2024. Supported by a staff team led by a newly created post of Museum Manager and our dedicated volunteers, the Trust will have an important role to play in providing strategic direction in developing a community focussed service that will reach out to wider audiences.

Located in Sun Street in the centre of Waltham Abbey, Epping Forest District Museum holds important local history, ethnography, and fine art collections; providing a lively programme of events and exhibitions with recently upgraded displays and public facilities. With continued support from Epping Forest District Council, we aim to develop our engagement with local communities across the area, working in partnership with local schools and community organisations.

To help us develop and deliver our aspirations we are seeking to appoint up to four new Trustees to join our Board who can bring experience and skills in, fundraising, marketing, commercial operation and museum practice.

The role of Trustee is non-executive, providing a rewarding opportunity to share your expertise and experience to shape our future.
