Trustee vacancy – The Judge’s Lodging Trust

It’s an exciting time for The Judge’s Lodging. The Trust has just been awarded a Community Ownership Fund grant, a compliment to an NLHF grant we were awarded earlier this year. This means we will be able to embark on a major capital works project to convert unused parts of the heritage building into holiday lets. Once operational, the flats will provide a sustainable source of income for this valuable heritage asset on the Welsh border.

The Judge’s Lodging is an award-winning, accredited museum that interprets and preserves the history of Radnorshire’s late-Georgian courthouse and associated Judge’s Lodgings Hall. Through period rooms, exhibitions and events, the Victorian lodging and court room provide an authentic, hands-on exploration of law and order in 19th-century society.

To help us realise the ambitious capital works project, we are seeking a new Trustee to complement the skills already represented on the Board. We are keen to hear from individuals with a background in heritage; expertise in marketing and/ or fundraising would be an advantage. The Board meets every six to eight weeks, both in person and virtually, so you don’t need to live locally to apply.

Number of meetings per annum/time commitment: average 6 meetings per annum

Daytime or evening meetings: evening, with a Zoom link for Trustees who are not local to Presteigne

Closing date for applications: 2 January 2024
