Trustee vacancy – The National Museum of Computing

The National Museum of Computing (TNMoC) is home to the world’s largest collection of working computers from the 1940s through to the present day. Our mission is to bring to life the history and ongoing development of computing in all its aspects for inspiration, research, learning and enjoyment for the benefit of general and specialist audiences of all ages.

TNMoC is an exceptional national asset – an impressive and successful effort from many committed and talented individuals. We are now looking to strengthen and widen our Board membership and would like to hear from individuals with a wide range of relevant experience and perspectives.

Diversity is important to us and minority groups are currently under represented on the Board, so we would encourage applications from a broad spectrum of applicants.

We are looking for Trustees who share a passion for our mission and want to help us drive it forwards as computing continues to evolve and transform everyday lives in more and more ways. We seek new Trustees with the ability to think strategically, assess opportunities and manage risk to join and strengthen our existing Board, help provide oversight of staff and volunteers, and with experience in any of the public, private, or voluntary sectors.

We are hoping to grow our board to both reinforce our existing knowledge, skills and experiences. In addition, we would particularly welcome applications from people with a background in the following areas:

  • Professional museum curatorial and operational leadership
  • Communications, Marketing (including digital marketing) and Media Relations
  • Human Resource Management, Staff Training and Development, or
  • Research expertise in the history of computing
