Trustee vacancy – Pallant House Gallery

Pallant House Gallery is recruiting three new Trustees; with one post currently vacant and two further posts vacant from September 2023.

The Board have identified the following priority skills and experience and a successful candidate will need to demonstrate expertise in at least one of the following areas:

  • Fundraising
  • Collections & exhibitions
  • Capital redevelopment projects
  • Learning & Public Programmes, including formal and informal learning and community engagement in museum or gallery setting
  • Knowledge of Museums and Galleries sector, including understanding of strategic funders (Arts Council England, National Lottery Heritage Fund).

We welcome applications from people from all backgrounds and previous Board experience is not required. The successful candidates will be given an induction into the working of the Gallery. This is a voluntary role but the Gallery will reimburse Trustees for reasonable travel or out-of-pocket expenses.

Number of meetings per annum/time commitment: 4 Board meetings per year. The successful applicants may be invited to join specific Sub-Committees or Advisory Groups, which meet separately three or four times per year. Trustees may also be asked to bring their expertise to work on specific tasks or projects with other Board members or the Executive team as required.
