Trustee vacancy – Sherborne Museum

Sherborne Museum in Dorset is currently looking for someone to join our dynamic and friendly team as a treasurer, to help oversee the financial welfare of the museum and aid its smooth running. The main tasks include:

  • Setting annual budgets
  • Producing regular reports on the charity’s financial position for trustee meetings
  • Undertaking bookkeeping duties and/or overseeing the finance volunteer, ensuring posting and bookkeeping is kept up-to-date
  • Ensure proper records are kept and that the charity remains compliant
  • Preparing the accounts each year
  • Working with your fellow trustees to provide overall financial direction for the charity
  • Participating actively in trustee meetings.

A background in accountancy/bookkeeping is desirable.

Number of meetings per annum/time commitment: 6 meetings (plus AGM)/4 hour per week.

Daytime or evening meetings: EVENING
