Trustee vacancy – Yorkshire Air Museum & Allied Air Forces Memorial

Yorkshire Air Museum & Allied Air Forces Memorial, Elvington, York

The museum celebrates aviation history with a unique collection of aircraft on display at Yorkshire’s best-preserved, original World War 2 airfield site. We tell stories of innovation, ingenuity and courage that give insight into the aircraft and the people who made and flew them to inform and inspire current and future generations.

It is an accredited, well-established, independent museum next to the famous Elvington Airfield. We have paid staff and around 100 volunteers. Before the pandemic we welcomed 55,000 – 60,000 visitors. Substantial grants from the National Lottery Heritage Emergency Fund and the government’s Cultural Recovery Fund, awarded in recognition of our achievements and contribution to heritage, encourages us to seek new people to develop and help execute our new business plan to ensure our sustainability in the future.
