Senior Curator (Collections & Engagement) – Hastings Museum & Art Gallery
Salary: £32,798
Hours: Part time, 18.5 hours per week
Term: Permanent
Location: Hastings Museum & Art Gallery, East Sussex, TN34 1ET

This is a new post that has been created to help us realise the next stage of our ambition to be a community museum. You will be joining the team at an exciting time as we build on our work over the last few years. Since 2018 we have developed strong working relationships with home educating families, LGBTQ+ people and refugee groups. We are also starting to build relationships with people living local social housing areas, D/deaf/disabled and neurodiverse communities and artists of colour.
As Senior Curator you will be integral to the success and development of the museum as we embed inclusivity and community involvement at the heart of how we work. You will lead a small team who are passionate about encouraging participation and dialogue with the local community, stakeholder groups and volunteers. Your previous experience of leading teams and developing high quality events, exhibitions and displays, learning sessions or community and access programmes will be central to making a success of this role.
As a key member of our museum leadership team, you will work with colleagues to develop and deliver sustainable and engaging programmes to achieve our strategic aims. Although advertised as part-time post we will support the successful candidate to secure funding to increase their hours if they want to.
